Football season 2013-2014

Posted by: mista h on 16 August 2013

As tomorrow the silly season starts all over again i thought i would start up this new thread so that followers of this stupidly rich game could have a say in anything Footie related. So if you want to have a moan or sing the praises about anything related would love to know about it.

My own moan is that lazy git Berbatov has carried on the way he ended last season. Watched him in our 2 home PSFs.He hardly broke sweat.

Also got to shake hands with our new Billionaire Chairman(Mr Khan),a friendly guy who appears to have trouble finding a barber shop

Can't see DiCanio at another prem club somehow,

I guess Jo''s demise was inevitable after yesterday's result. It's a funny old season for results. Who would have thought Hull would have outplayed Liverpool today and Southampton are doing a good job at the moment leading Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Watching the Celtic game down the pub last nite, with the snow coming down.

In one of the stands about 50 or so young lads all stripped to the waist !!

Do they breed em tough over the border or are their brains all removed at birth ?

It's amazing how warming you much you think a load of alcohol is.

Big Sam next for the chop? While the Hammers won't have expected to get much if anything from Anfield today, Palace's resurgence has dragged them right into the relegation mix.

I expect The Samster to survive until Moyes gets the bullet..

Agreed Arfur. Fat Sam will be given time, not least because the he is the Bongo Brothers' appointment, and to sack him means loss of face. And of course there is the practical matter of who'd want to come to WHUto replace him  anyway...

If you want Sam to go then the forthcoming defeat to Nottingham Forest in the cup should help

Baggies sack Steve Clarke...Oh sure it's his fault! Methinks they're getting a bit full of themselves...

Posted on: 14 December 2013 by MDS

I agree. Steve Clarke has had some great results with the Baggies over the past year or so.  This looks like panic on the part of the board.

Posted on: 14 December 2013 by Arfur Oddsocks

Think he got lucky last term with Lukaku. Having said that the managergoround is symptomatic of the fear in the prem of the R word and the devastating loss of revenue it brings, Sacking Clarke is one thing but who do they expect to get in, Ron bleedin Atkinson?

A ridiculous decision clearly - but I sort of blame the loan system.

It is lunatic that Premiership clubs can loan players to other Premiership clubs. Lower leagues - yes. Foreign leagues - probably (but certainly second tier and below).

The only thing today that was more farcical than the Baggies sacking Clarke was WHU's performance at the Boleyn. Rudderless, hopeless, clueless. Sunderland were woeful and they should - could - have beaten us.

As bad a game of football as I've seen all season.

I think we need to stick with Sam, but sort it out Fatty!

I'd be happy for WHU to play that badly next Saturday

Posted on: 14 December 2013 by Steve J

I bet you do Chris. Good luck with Aston Villa today.

Not too sure what West Ham are able to do to solve our form slump, big Sam not providing a lot in terms of direction or tactical instruction and players lack confidence and consistency.

Cannot see Carroll having much to offer the side at any stage soon.

The Davids need to make some big decisions soon otherwise we will be debuting at the OS from the championship.

The sacking of Steve Clarke was inevitable when you consider we have only won 7 games out of 34 in this calendar year. Also he only had 5 months left on his current contract so the board had a choice of 2 options, either give him a new contract or sack him, they have decided to go for the 2nd option.

The big fat bald headed Dutchman is available and could start next week. Guy has not got a clue how to sort out defending, but he is free.

United fans singing "we are staying up" etc - after the second goal.

Not sure that those chickens are ready for counting yet

Looks like Liverpool are causing Spurs some embarrassment at WHL.  Spurs Champions League contenders, really?

The Spuds' fans, surely the most big-headed and deluded in football, always THINK they are Champs League material. Some of them are insane enough to believe they can top the PL. No matter how many times reality intrudes, the continue to believe.

However this season they haven't got Bale to bale them out.

Hilarious!

Watched the game on the telly. There was no smile on AVB's face at the final whistle. Bet there wasn't on Levy's either.
