System advice would be much appreciated..

It's been a while since I updated, and an imminent house move is going to allow this :-)  But - I'm going round in circles.

Currently running a Rotel CD & amp, and my 25yr old (but updated) Rega, into some PMC FB1i flootstanders.

Am looking at the combination of ND5XS and Supernait2, and keeping the PMC speakers, which I feel should be fine with those units, and I love them.

Have just started ripping my CD collection into Flac on a spare but fast laptop (that supports C2 error pointers etc) with dbPoweramp - am hoping this will be good enough.

I am looking for recommendations though.  I plan to have that system in my lounge, but want to be able to also use the same files when in my study. One solution I considered was to have a unitiqute2 in the study.  However, I have spare amplification (reasonably good Rotel) and speakers (AAD floor standers, not awesome but fine in the study and already spare) so was wondering about alternative solutions.

IF I had something like the LIV Zen vortexbox at £499 in the lounge, can I access and play those files from my iMac in my study?  

If so, then is the LIV the right unit to consider, and what USB DAC presents reasonable value for use from the iMac? 

Or - (given that the less I spend in the study, the more can go into the main system) should I forget the LIV, use the spare laptop I already have to host the ripped data and then share from that? (and is there any specific software I should be looking at to do this with??)  Its a high spec dell precision with SSD, simple to add more local storage, and is completely spare.  I also have many spare large USB drives left over from extensive photography projects, (theres a stack of 5 2TB drives and a 3TB as well).  I also have a Netgear NAS, but don't intend to use it, it sounds like a 747.

If I have some budget left, I'd love to look at Pre/Power as an alternative to the Supernait2, but am not sure If thats the wrong way round in what won't be an enormous room, should I be looking to put a power supply on the ND5XS instead?
