HDX - how do I delete "download" albums?

Posted by: blythe on 26 August 2013

I have accidentally copied the same album into the "downloads" folder of my HDX twice.

It now shows as a 36 track album instead of the actual 18.
I have tried deleting it in N-Serve but the "edit" tab is greyed out. I also cannot delete them from "finder" on my Mac as it says I do not have the permissions to do it.

N-Serve is showing just one album whereas it is showing as two in "finder", neither of which I can delete.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

You should have total access to the download folder with Finder Try to connect as Admin

How do I connect as "admin"? I am the only user of the computer!

My user account is "supposed" to have admin rights. Still stumped at the moment though as I can't delete the duplicate album :-(

I have discovered after ages fiddling, that the old hard drive that I am copying the music from (it was from when my laptop had a small HDD so I used an external one for my music) has somehow got all the files listed as "locked".
After a laborious "get info" and change to "unlocked" in the "downloads" folder,  I can now delete the extra, duplicate files.
Only a few hundred more CD's to alter if I make the same mistake of adding then twice!
