iRadio app - Any other recommendations?

Posted by: GraemeH on 31 August 2013

I'm fishing around trying to decide which internet radio tuner app to put on my dad's iPad. Is iRadio any good or are there better options?

An easy user interface without overblown graphics  - A 'does what it says on the tin' approach would suit him best.

Thanks,

TuneIn Radio is worth a look, too.  It's free, and it seems very easy to browse for music stations by genre.

Thanks again on Tunein Radio - I'd looked at it initially (the 'pro' version to avoid ads) but read some bad reviews which put me off. I guess for a few pounds it's worth trying. G

The Radio is very simple to use. There is a no ads version called Pro Radio. Try The Radio to see how your dad gets on.

Personally I use TuneIn Radio like the guys above.

Don't forget the Podcast app so he can subscribe to his favourite programmes. And then there is the iPlayer Radio app....... It is not surprising that it can be confusing.

Graeme,

Just to confuse you more give you another choice, Radium -- which is a popular iRadio player for Mac -- has just been released for iOS. No advice as I don't use it, but it's just to say. It's 50% off now, so $1.99 (don't know in GBP). You'll find a few reviews on the net to give you an idea.

There's iHeartRadio that seems to be popular too.
