DSD downloads from Acoustic Sounds

I must admit that I'm not too sure how DSD compares to the more usual 192/24, 96/24 etc formats. Can anyone position DSD relative to high-res Flac & WAV?

I see Acoustic Sounds are now selling high-res digital downloads including DSD format. I'm particularly interested in a high-res version of Shelby Lynne's "Just a little lovin'". I have the CD, tried the LP but the quality was poor so I returned it. In high-res I'm sure this will sound stunning, but I'm not sure whether to go for DSD, high-res Flac.....

Any thoughts or feedback will be great.

Graham,

there are few different issues on LP of this one. There's the regular Lost Highway issue, the Universal 180g and the Analogue Productions 200g LP. Which one sounded poor?

FWIW, I have none of the LPs - I was given the CD on release and thought it sounded pretty good. Certainly good enough that it got quite a lot of play at the 2008 Bristol show. Not sure I've dared play it again since then.
