A lot of questions to be answered e.g

Can i convert my old cd's?

Does PONO have a worldwide license to distribute this music?

What price point for it and the albums?

Any word on how this is better than FLAC 24/96?

Yep but will the general public even care. Will it become hip to own?

The other thing is the last prototype pic I saw the product was a triangular player. Wonder how that will look in your pocket.

We will wait and see.

Some people in the industry have already stated their view:

I agree. Its too bad that he didn't just create a hi res re-issue label.  I certainly feel the need for that and would absolutely by from a source of high res content that I knew was treated with care.

He could certainly put his relationships with musicians and audio sensibilities to great use reissuing hi res content without bankrupting himself in the world of consumer electronics.  Steve Jobs and Jeff Bezos - and all their billions - are the only ones who've ever pulled off a propriety consumer device + content ecosystem successfully - and Jobs arguably failed the 1st time around with the Mac from a business perspective.
