Arcade Fire

New single - Reflektor - now available

http://www.theguardian.com/mus...rcade-fire-reflektor

Album (same name) on October 29th. Pre-order (on the band's website) and get an immediate download of the single.

Any band that manages to get David Bowie doing backing vocals must know they've arrived somehow.

It's a new direction, and a wee bit long, but I like it.

Very much looking forward to the tour - they are spectacular on stage.

Well, all the more reason for ordering direct - I paid €15.99 (vinyl).

Great song!  I bought a copy of the 12" vinyl from Real Groovy in Auckland, NZ at 9pm on Monday night, making them the the first retailer in the world to sell a copy

It is credited to a fictitious band called The Reflektors and has a fictitious tracklisting on the rear.

Apparently it's been recorded in a fully analogue fashion which will please our vinyl users.

Hi Rod.

It may well go down in price on pre order with Amazon before dispatch date . It's also easier to replace  should it be faulty for UK customers.....It sounds like its going to be an interesting release and something to look forward to.

Regards Graham.

I'll not be buying, not paying 50% of retail for P&P.

Graham, happy to give more of the money to the artist though. Although the lossless download was an attraction.

Arcade Fire always give good vinyl. Funeral is one of the best vinyl recordings of recent years I have.

They are also mesmerising on stage too. Especially Régine Chassagne - who is just delicious.

At the moment Amazon works out £2 more expensive than Topspin once you a nearly £7 for handling and postage. Topspin also have a very dodgy returns policy. I've ordered from Amazon.

rodwsmith..... Option to buy is greyed out ,ordered  the double from   Amazon.

I managed it somehow, had to log in via g-mail or something. Sounds like it will end up being cheaper from Amazon for you - but to France the shipping was less extreme comparatively.

The single download only costs 89p if you can't wait...

Gone with a pre order on Amazon, maybe they will reduce it?

Sensible Howard. I backed off buying from Topspin when I saw that their handling/P&P charges made it only £2 less than Amazon and then read their T&Cs on returns. In addition they are based in Santa Monica Ca. I don't know if they have a European distribution but if the record comes from the US then import duties and handling charges will apply.

Really enjoying the album so far, and have listened to it several times.

I happened to be in Rouen yesterday, and I went for a run in the morning. "Joan of Arc" came on as I was running up Rue Jeanne d'Arc. Fantastic. Think "Awful Sound" is both anything but, and the album's highlight for me. So far anyway.

I downloaded lossless from the link they sent me, but am travelling so I haven't yet got, or even seen, my vinyl copy, but nevertheless I am glad I bought it direct, because I got an e-mail about the "Reflektors" concerts and a code for the presale, and I managed to get tickets to go the the Camden gig next week, about which I am very excited (although the flight wasn't exactly a bargain at this notice).
