Roger Waters ...14/09

Cant wait ........ anybody know if the roof will be open or closed .... trying to decide if i dont mind getting wet or not as it looks like rain
We were about central great view:-
We were stood just to the left side of the mixing desks on the pitch - Great sound and certainly no sync problems where we were and for once I think it's fair to say, they got the SPL about right too - A great evening IMHO.
Well, I was at Manchester for the show last night and was knocked out by the whole spectacle. Normally I loath stadium gigs because the sound is so crap, but I felt completely immersed in the sound here. Absolutely spot on. Not sure what the capacity was yesterday with the stage layout, but even if it was 15,000 it was probably more "intimate" than Wembley and we had a great view from the rear corner to the left of the stage.
Slightly surprised about the discussion about the synching issues, as quite clearly the footage being projected was filmed at a different time and Roger was just not quite in time with the same movements. Not that that was of any consequence, the music was all in sync. The only actual live projection was of the band at the very end after the wall came down when they did the acoustic number.
We had the pig flying over us, which was entertaining as well great for cooling us down. If I could figure out how to post the video I took with my iPhone I would put them up here.
Crowd was well behave by comparison to reports from Wembley although there was obviously a lot of herbal substance being smoked inside both the toilets and the arena itself. Quite retro I thought.
Great night, well impressed.

I didn't see any crowd issues at all - Everyone was pretty laid back IMHO. - Probably due to the "herbs", It's fair to say there was allot of that...........
Yes, I thought the sound was great where I was, but that was one of the reasons to get near the desks.
I'll dig up some flying pig pics shortly and it was ceremonially slaughtered (deflated into the crowd) near us near the end of the performance. The wall coming down was something else as everyone was shouting together "Tear down the wall!" ...... An absolutely excellent way to spend an evening

And the wall comes down
The aftermath and the place erupted as Waters made his way through the rubble and continued singing of course. Fab!

This was the review of the show posted by my mate Ian who was attended the gig with me. Somewhat more polished than my effort, but he does this sort of stuff for a living.

Excellent review by your mate Ian & superb photographs from Peter!
There's not much more that needs to be added. The evening was entertainment at its very best.
Thanks to Mr & Mrs BigH47 for their company (it was great to meet you both) for a wonderful time
