N-stream Rovi error
Posted by: sjbabbey on 15 September 2013
Just started getting persistent error when accessing Rovi info in n-stream 3.4.
"Error expected code (200-299). Got 500"
only partial Rovi data then loads. Anyone else had this problem?
Using n-steam on iPad.
I just got that. No idea what it means!
Yes, I have seen that once in the last 48 hours. HTTP response 500 is usually a server application error of some sort. It might be the Rovi database is having a few issues. 500 errors are usually flagged to the system administrator, so I am sure they are aware of it.

Yes, same thing is happening to me today (n-Stream, iPad, Uniti2). I don't seem to recall this happening before but it seems to correct itself after a few re-tries.

Yes, me too this afternoon. Wondered was it was, as not actually accessing the 'Info'.
Oh well - let's hope it was just a database having a moment, and will be sorted out in due course.
Me too
It seems to be back now, for me.
I have had the same error message several times since I upgraded to 3.4 both on iPod and iPad. I never had this error with 3.2 so I wonder whether 3.4 handles Rovi access/error trapping differently?
Happened a few times to me yesterday too & I'm still on 3.2 firmware...
Ah we'll... It must have just been a coincidence that the Rovi problems started the day I upgraded to 3.4.
I have been having problems accessing Rovi for more than a month. I don't get an error message, I get a endless "searching meta-data" message. The only thing that downloads from Rovi is the single page describing the particular track that is playing; the full booklet on the album remains inaccessible. I have tried everything I can think of: refreshing the cache, turning off the app and turning it back on (on an ipad), and downloading a whole new app to replace the old one. With so many others having a problem, I wonder if something has changed at Rovi that is now incompatible with the N-Serve app?
