No big fan of remasters....but The Clash

Posted by: Jon Myles on 16 September 2013

As the title says...I'm no big fan of remasters (apart from Massive Attack's Blue Lines) but the Clash's Sound System remastering is worth hearing - especially for Give 'Em Enough Rope.

If you have all the albums already, then maybe not worth paying for the box set version.

I'm afraid I do, but I did.

If anyone else has it...let me know what you think.

Not bought it yet. I do have most of the originals on vinyl but they are a bit worn out now. So tempted for sure. Some more positive posts and I will add it to "my cart".

Sorry for side track..

I am interested in the Massive Attack box. Is it worthwhile? I have the original vinyl which is very good.

Would appreciate your view.

Sandinista! has the most obvious sonic improvement, just wish they had included Black Market Clash in the studio album pack.

I bought the smaller of the two sets with all the original albums remastered and the sound is excellent it is one of the best remastering I have heard.

It's nice to see what I presume is bands finally getting the message as the Smiths box set is pretty good too.

Hopefully bands and beginning to realise that this may be their last chance to leave a legacy for posterity and want to sound as amazing as they possibly can.
