Please help a new streamer

Dear forum, can you help me with some 'starter' information.

I've just bought a new ND5 XS, and am extremely happy with it. I've also just ordered a QNAP nas (TS 212 I think), which comes with an i-Tunes server already installed.

I have however been recommended to try dBpoweramp instead. My questions are:

If I use dBpoweramp, do I also need to use Twonky as well, or does dBpoweramp handle album art, etc? In other words, is dBpoweramp all I need?

If I do need Twonky, what does this do, and how do I get them to 'speak to each other'?

Or, is it easier just to stick to using i-Tunes? Maybe ripping to AIFF files?

Sorry if these are simple questions, but it seems that this is a potential minefield and I want to start off with the best set up possible.

thanks for any help/advice.

You can have your music on your mac and have the mac version of Asset serve it to your ND5, using nStream as your control software for the ND5. A Mac Mini would be ideal for this but of course any Mac works equally fine, just needs to be turned on of course. Asset is still under development, i.e. in beta trial, so playlists will likely be available at some point, if it isn't already. Another good one is supposedly JRiver, at beta version at the moment for a reduced fee, full version scheduled for end of 2013. Playback is another UPnP server for OSX, which works fine.
