nStream buffer issues

Posted by: Buntobox on 19 October 2013

Hi

I'm having trouble with buffering.

This is a recent thing and up until about three months ago it never happened. If I'm playing a piece of music that's continuous but nevertheless is split into sections (Strauss's Also sprach Zarathustra is a case in point) the buffer quite often but not always drops to zero percent and the music stops for a second at the end of each section. I'm running an ND5 XS on a wireless network from an Orange gigaset router and I'd really like to know why this is suddenly a problem and what can be done about it.

This is a problem with the new 3.21 firmware. We are all awaiting a fix from Naim. Do a search on the forum and you will find plenty to read.

(Assumes you've upgraded your firmware of course !)

Yes it is nothing to do with Nstream.. It's the streaming firmware 3.21 issue in the Naim equipment itself. Naim have now identified this bug and are testing the patch fix currently. We will get a new streaming firmware.

Hi,
Is this only a problem if you are wireless.i have a nd5xs hard wired running 3.21 and the buffer never moves off 100%.
