Cannot delete folders on UnitiServe internal music store

Posted by: deepinsight on 27 October 2013

I've recently purchased an ex-demo UnitiServe from a dealer.

The US has a number of folders on its internal hard drive. There are 19 folders, all empty, with Artists names as their titles 0 blocks in size.

When I attempt to delete the folders ( from Windows 7 Explorer ) I get the message, "You require permission from NSSRVnnnn\Aministrator to make changes to this folder.

When I attempt to delete the folders from the Naim desktop client or web interface I cannot see the folders at all. If I set the internal drive to the the only music store, I can add new albums by ripping them, but cannot see the 19 folders in desktop or web view, just the newly added folders.

How can I get ride of these empty folders?

My first advice is to ignore them.  I know -- the OCD in us sometimes prevents that (in all good spirits I say this).

You cannot with Windows or OS X as the drive is 'protected,' as you found out.

I suspect, strongly, that they are not hurting anything and so long as they aren't showing up in nStream or nServe to distract your user experience -- STOP BROWSING THE DRIVE LOOKING FOR STUFF
