Your 2014 Concerts

Posted by: Richard S on 04 November 2013

Just booked for Rick Wakeman's Journey to the Centre of the Earth in Liverpool next May.

Anyone else have forthcoming concerts to announce? I only discovered the last Steve Hackett tour from this site, so here's hoping for more undiscovered gems.

I'll be attending several concerts next year of Boulez/CSO's Stravinsky/Ravel/Debussy programs.

I have not seen him about 10 years so looking forward to the occasions.

And Paul Lewis' Beethoven No.3 Piano Concerto 'should be' good.

What a bizarre photograph! Imagine the art planning meeting;

Attractive lady pianist; let's put her in a backless dress. Check.

Natural light would be good; some woodland. Check.

Maybe some Rhododendron in the background. Check.

Wind machine to get that slightly tousled look. Check.

Obviously a piano. Check.

No - still something missing. We need a swan.........

Richard,

That stuffed swan pretty much makes it a money shot.

Without it, it's pretty boring.

This shot, OTOH, needs no stuffed bird, as there are two nicely stuffed bosoms as a point of visual interest.

A little bit different for me but after getting my first taste of Opera in Naples earlier in the year with Rigoletto my wife booked last night for us to go and see Madame Butterfly and Carmen at the Open Air Opera Festival in Verona next August, should certainly be a spectacle.

Kuma, my wife and I are going to this as well.

Not a concert really, but we are traveling to London to see Monty Python at the O2 this summer -- meeting friends from Cambridge and making a holiday of it.  Just need to procure tickets but that shouldn't be too hard (albeit expensive).
