At $73milion (£46m) India's Mars mission is a source of national pride

HS2 is estimated to cost £42billion & a source of national disagreement

If we use the £280 million aid from the UK to India, we could send the Midlands and India to mars and would have plenty of change left!

The Birmingham fare is return, of course.

I went to Birmingham for the first time in May for an Emmylou Harris concert. Both Birmingham and Emmylou were delights - the latter expected - but Birmingham was a great surprise.

We took advantage of the Chiltern offer in the summer, £1 each return , Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street, a lovely day it was too.
