I have a few - expensive but good quality, and digital notes. Of course, HD doesn't turn a bad recording into a good one.

Not sure if we are talking about the same thing here?

I am refering to the deal linn offer from their site wher you can buy their entire music collection on a hard drive for a few grand !

I think they offer maybe 3 options with one having something like 600 albums and costs several grand to buy !

Just had a look on the Linn music site and they are offering the top 200 studio master collection for just under €3000.

Which comes to €15 an album, which is more than I usually pay for high res albums via Qobuz or eclassical.

not a very good deal I would say.

linn is normally way over priced in my opinion and I never buy from Linn because of that.

cheers

On the other hand e.g. Naimlabel sell their selection of Hi Res products at the price of 15-20€ a piece. Compared to that the Linn offering is not that bad. But the real question (at least to me) would be if the top 200 items include music/performances which are interesting enough to be bought in the first place.

Exactly as osprey politely says. Why would anyone think of dropping that kind of money on a collection of music  of Linn's choosing? Possibly worth it for a hand-picked collection of one's own favorites. But is anyone really that hard up for something to drop money on? Might be better served to find a charity. There's probably some typhoon victims that would appreciate it.

Perhaps the expansion of Qobuz next month will provide dose of reality?
