Massive Attack Re-Issue Mezzanine on Vinyl!

Posted by: Paul@HiFi Lounge on 12 November 2013

This is what I have been waiting for what seems like years now, at long last Massive Attack have re-issued Mezzanine on double Vinyl, I've just ordered it from Amazon

Teardrop has cost me a fortune on new hifi over the years being that it is one of my main demo tracks of choice, be great to own it on vinyl at last.

Hi David,

Just got confirmation of Shipping for Mezzanine and Blue Lines so hopefully it will be here before Xmas :-)

I've been thinking it over for the last couple of days, hoping it wouldn't sell out, so just added Heligoland to my vinyl collection so thanks for all your help with this, it is much appreciated.

Cheers,

Paul.

Mmm. No-one answered. Well, they have used the original metalwork for these reissues. So, theoretically identical, although the reissue has a rather fine German pressing. I can say that it sounds far better than either the CD or the tracks shared with vinyl version of their retrospective collection.

Having ordered a vinyl copy of Mezzanine from Germany believing none were available in the UK, I was surprised to find four copies in HMV Birmingham yesterday - about £22 from memory.

Not much else there unfortunately.

I've just got an e-mail from Amazon.fr saying my confirmed order is no longer going to happen, so if anyone knows of anywhere online that still has a copy of this, I'd be supremely grateful.

Interestingly HMV don't appear to sell via online (although just because Ron found it in a store doesn't mean it would be available anyway I guess). I shall be in London on Saturday, so I will try HMV there.

Just found somewhere (in France) - if anyone is interested: Fnac.com (via a reseller).

Checked and they still have it listed even after I've bought mine. It was €32, so not cheap (although their postage was well priced), but already seems to be trading for twice that on private seller type places.

Thanks for the tip from the OP. It is a fine album.

Got my copy of Mezzanine through yesterday which was a relief along with the Blue Lines Boxset, unfortunately I missed out on Heligoland though.

Not to worry, Mezzanine was my main concern, look forward to getting a couple of days off over Xmas to sit down and enjoy it

I spoke too soon.

Just got an e-mail from FNAC - with a refund, some mumbled oversight apology, and wishes for happy Christmas. I'm really not sure how legitimate it is to take people's money for something you don't have and simply give it back subsequently, but it's happened twice now.

So if anyone knows of anywhere selling a copy, please let me know!

Nightmare looks like I missed out also. Can't find any for a reasonable price. Grrrrrr

Anyone know of heligoland box set going for a good price. I've just paid over the odds for mezzanine on eBay.

I Ummmed and Errred to long over Heligoland when it was available and missed out so if anyone does know where it is going at a reasonable price I'd be interested also, its always the way isn't it, as soon as someone says you can't have something you want it even more

At least Mezzanine was worth all the hassle, sounds great, you won't be disappointed EAROTICA.

I did find one in the end, from someone selling on Ebay in Germany. €32, but with reasonable postage (to France). Seems to be no 'Buy it Now' options left currently, but a few people auctioning them. Good luck.

It was worth the wait/hunt/expense.

I paid closer to £50 but I've got it for good now so should get many years of use out if it. Can't wait to get it now.
