aiff HDTracks doesn't play by Naim Uniti

Posted by: mcmiles on 07 December 2013

Hi, I've just download my first album in .aiff from HDTracks. Imported it in iTunes. I'am using Twonky as mediaserver but the Naim Uniti don't recognize the music. It play's very well from my iMac to the B&W A7 Airplay speaker in my office.

Somebody to help with thanks in advance.

Regards

Thanks Kevin, minim does't work either. Works JRiver Naim's N-stream app on iPhone/iPad or do have to download JRemote from the App Store?

Regards

Jos

N stream works with JRiver.  I'd recommend you shut off your existing upnp servers first.  Then try minim.  I had it working without any problems.  It should work just fine with aiff.  (All my music is in that format and never had a problem). If you do use JRiver have it transcode to WAV to your Uniti.

is it possible you have an older uniti that only supports 96k and you're streaming 192k?  Anyways... JRiver has problems when you run other upnp servers at the same time.

Thanks again Kevin!

The dealer installed software version 3.17 one year ago and that must supports 24bit/192kHz. I've skipped Minim and Twonky but the N-stream don't see JRiver. I'll think that I'am doing something wrong with JRiver? I've downloaded media center 19.0.88 the latest release. But now I'am trying with Media Center 19.0.76 and let you know.

Make sure all the other upnp servers on the system are off.  A few people have had problems with JRiver not playing nice with other upnp servers.  If you are running Windows, its possible that Windows Media server is turned on.

Firmware does not update a 96k product to 192k, they are physically different boards.

@Kevin I've got it up and running! All the other upnp servers must off indeed, also in the background. And now HDtracks download 192/24 is also playing.

@J Saville You're right.
