How do I redeem my forum "activity points"?

Posted by: Engelbert on 16 December 2013

I see that I've just accumulated another 1,000 activity points for my forum contributions - giving me a grand total of just over 27,000.

How do I go about redeeming them - and can I take cash in lieu of a new 552?

Engelbert, I think once you reach 100,000 there may be a free therapy session.  I could be wrong though.

Hopefully, not with a Source First antagonist........

Whoops - shouldn't have brought that topic up again.

I understood that the 100,000 mark was a lunch with George?

I have 27,602 - if these activity points are anything like Nectar Rewards points, I guess I can look forward to about £2 off my next Naim purchase.

The less I post, the higher my ranking gets. It's a hint to go away, I suppose. :-)

I think the real benefit comes in when you start posting on a competitor forum, I guess your discounted 552 will be soon within reach, or I am now up for a therapy session :-)

52.495 here… and I don't even own any Naims. Enough to get me back in?

...ok let's then start a protest, I know I don't have this crazy amount of activity points as some of the guys (as I tend to only post on music, not so knowledgeable to the hifi side of things as people like Simon)....however I think everybody above 4000 activity points should get a free 552  :-)

We can buy the other ones ourselves :-)

The point is, what's the point of the points?

Posted on: 19 December 2013 by Steve J

I don't bother looking. What's the point?

I've just called poundstretchers in an attempt to redeem my 763. They said if I go in first thing Christmas morning they'll let me take the cellophane of one of their Christmas Carol cd's or alternatively, they can connect me to the Samaritans.

Now that's customer service for you!

You can have my points. Should be enough for a blood transfusion!

That has reminded me that I do have a Nectar card - do you get interest on the Reward points?

I was assuming they could be converted to Airmiles  (just like Shell points).

100,000 points gets you a voucher for Pound Shop

The good old days...

My Nan had what may have been the world's largest stash of Embassy fag coupons - they could be seen from outer space, I'm sure - she never cashed them in though. It was more than likely she had enough coupons to buy a mansion in Belgravia, but for some reason lived in a flat in Lewisham.

When I was little, I spent hours with my mum sticking the stamps in the books. There were far too many to lick, so I used a sponge and a saucer of water. When we had enough, we'd pop over to Brighton on the train to the special shop to buy whatever household item we'd saved up for.

It was very exciting when hundreds of the stamps poured out of the machine at the checkout. I'd completely forgotten about them.

Perhaps Naim could give out a free mug to those who accumulate enough.
