It's disappeared

How strange, my UnitiServe is at Salisbury being repaired at the moment, so I decided to get my CDs out of the loft, and play them on my Sony Blu-ray player, until the unit comes back. Guess what? The hum/buzz on my HiCap Dr has disappeared, it's as quiet as a mouse!!! Can anyone work that one out?
