Streaming through synology nas, apple tv3 and naim dac.

Hi. Is this really possible?

I can't hear no difference from my CD5XS into the Dac.

I'm using the build in application DS audio in the Nas.

I'm surpriced!

Rest of setup:

nac202, hicapdr, napsc, nap200 and Dynaudio Focus 260.

If you are using one of the Lossless file formats when streaming, not in the slightest surprised. All the CD is used for now in my house is to be ripped to the NAS ready for streaming.

Just a question, how does the sound get from the NAS to the Apple TV? Does the ATV see the content, or is it "pushed" from the NAS through a wired or wifi connection?

From the DS soundapplication in the NAS via ethernetcable into a router. From the router wireless to the AppleTV and from optical output into the ndac. I don't no if the tv sees it and that leads me to a question about the upsampling that I have read about. Do I bypass that if I "push"?

Everything is just fine and sounds amazing, but I still wonder if i stream a played file from my synology nas (DS audio) with airplay through the atv optical and ndac. Is the airplay the carrier of the file all the way without being affected by the atv?
