Christmas cards

Now this may well sound a humbuggy moment but...

As my wife sat down the other night for her 3rd night of writing out cards, it occurred to me to wonder why?

We know the same people by and large yet I don't feel the urge to write and send dozens and dozens of cards to them.

I assume it's a bloke thing as by and large I/we give cards to immediate and remote family and the odd professional colleague but that's about it. I don't give cards to 'mates' and vice verse. Is it just a girl thing? Are women responsible for the surge in spending come Christmas? Would Clinton's go down the tube without our better halves?

Other half does a few cards and thats it.

I give out 3 FFC cards to the guys i play squash with on a friday nite, and thats only because all 3 are palace supporters and i get 3 given me every year. And TBH at 2 quid a card i begrudge that.
