Any BubbleUpnp Users able to help?

Posted by: Sorren on 22 December 2013

I just got a Unitiqute2 and have installed BubbleUpnp onto my Android tablet. I have no iThingy and don't plan to get one so n-stream is out.

I used Bubble to stream to my Sony Bluray player with no problems but it's acting strangely with the Qute. If I create a playlist from several albums held on my server I have to select each track in turn from the playlist and the playing stops after every track.

If I add an album using 'enqueue and play', it shows up as expected in/as the playlist and starts to play. The next track it displays on the Now Playing screen however isn't the correct one and when the track changes it usually plays a completely different track (also not the right one). Basically it plays the list out of order missing out several tracks.

I know my Synology NAS is passing information correctly firstly because Bubble builds the lists correctly and also because the tracks play in the correct order when the album is selected using the Qute's front screen. Probably a setting but any help would be appreciated.

Hi Guys. Sorry I managed to sort the problem out. I uninstalled Bubble then re-installed it. Now everything is working fine. I should have remembered; "If in doubt and things don't make sense, re-install".

Hi Sorren.
As you have a Shnology NAS, you could also try the DS Audio app that they provide. Works really well for me and preferable to Bubble.

Hi Orangutan

Thank you. I'll have a look. I think I installed it already and just left it. I hadn't realized it could control the Qute, just assumed it was a player.

I've never liked Bubble.  Very flaky and like you had to uninstall reinstall numerous times.

Now given up and use UpNPlay (NOT UpnPlayer) which I find more stable and better in every respect

But have a look at the thread on Namote too which will give you everything the very average n-Stream does without needing to join the Apple cult

Thank you JSH. I'll have a look. I picked up on bubble because I saw lots of people on this forum recommending it but I'm always open to finding something better.

I never had such problems with BubbleUPnP. Maybe the GUI is a little bit confusing, but IMHO it offers most functionality compared to other apps. The biggest advantage is, that you can enable gapless playback in BubbleUPnP. All other apps lead to a break of 0.5 to 3 seconds on a track change.
