Tagging downloaded Qobuz Flac files for a Naim system.

Posted by: R.K on 27 December 2013

Bought and downloaded Giulini's Marriage of Figaro From Qobuz. All tracks are there and appear correctly labelled. When streamed to an NDS from an NS01 the tracks are all there but in the wrong order. They are in the right order when streamed to a Squeezebox Touch via Squeezebox server. The files are stored on a Synology NAS. I have checked the tags using dbPoweramp. Everything else works fine. Please would those in the know let me know how to sort this. Many thanks.

Make sure the tracks that are single digit have a '0' first, e.g. 01 02 03 04 etc. This doesn't apply if there's only 9 tracks, but more than that and the Naim needs the zeros.

Tagging them might be an issue. I use XLD on a Mac to Tag. dbPoweramp should work on your PC. Hope this helps.

Cheers

Thanks Ricky. They were indeed single digit. What seemed to confuse the Naim was that there were 2 discs included in 1 folder whereas the music ripped by the Naim put each cd into its own folder.  I've put metadatics onto my mac and used this to change it to one disc with the total number of files and renumbered the tracks - seems to have worked.  Either method is very time consuming!

....while the help documentation is a bit sparse, the Function->Number Sequence command 'just works' - and takes the drudgery (and errors) out of renumbering. Two clicks and its done.

I'm well impressed with Metadatics - its quick, reliable and the added value stuff (hidden under the Function  menu) does seem to provide the right capabilities.

Thanks Slioch. I'll give it a go.

Ok. I've tried all sorts of permutations with Metadatics. Still various albums with tracks in the wrong order, some albums showing empty, and others with each track as a different album. There must be an easier way of doing this.
