Streaming to bedroom from HDX & NAS issues

All,

I'm quite useless at I.T related issues...

I have an HDX in the lounge with Netgear NAS. That all works fine.

I have a Pure Sensia in the bedroom, the wireless signal is ok as I can stream internet radio no problem, it shows a signal strength of 97% using the wifi booster situ between the 2 rooms. It even streams paradise radio at 320kbps so ive no issues with router/wifi booster.

When I select  'media player' on the Pure Sensia, it shows 'Mybooklive-twonky' which I think is the NAS in the lounge.

when I click on it, it opens all the the library, similar to what you see down the left hand side of IPad when using the nserve.  However, if I say select 'playlists', it shows all the tracks within it, when you click on a specific track, it shows the name of that track on a different part of the display on the Sensia, followed by 'unknown' and then continuously changes to other tracks within the playlist with no sound.

its not a fault with the unit, my other pure radio does exactly the same thing.

have I got to change some settings in the HDX or NAS or both?

Thanks,

The HDX should appear as a UPnP device. What seems to be the issue here is that the Sensia is using the built in UPnP server on the NAS, which will not recognize the Metadata associated with the WAV files that the HDX is ripping. The HDX keeps it's own records as far as metadata is concerned, rather than embedding it within the file. This means that the NAS server is unable to understand the Metadata, hence why everything shows up as 'unknown'.

If you can get your HDX to show up then you'll be fine. Try a reboot.
