Unitiserve SSD Ripping problem

Posted by: MikeGh on 30 December 2013

Hi, I wonder if someone can help me. For some reason, my UnitiyServe has lost the location of my music store located on a NAS. It still recognises the store's location on the NAS but regards it as a network share. So I can play my music from my Apple iMac using Safari quite happily, but when I try to rip a new CD, the output from the Unitiserve just disappears into thin air because it does not have a location for its store. I have Naim's nMusic software on my Mac, and when I look at the maintenance section, I can see the folder holding my music displayed under Network shares, but not under Network stores. Under network shares there's an option to make the selected folder into a network store.

My problem is whether it's safe to do this in nMusic, because when I use the web browser to access my music, there is an option to create a new music store, but with a warning that the location must be empty before you do this. I haven't found any info for using nMusic, so my question is does  anybody know if it's safe to use nMusic to make my music folder into a store when it has 700 or 800 800 CDs in it?

I'd be very grateful for any advice.
