Just managed to get a copy of this first almost unknown and publicised Evanescence Album.

The recording quality makes the others sound awful.

It is nice to hear their music uncompressed and hear the vocals unadulterated - it is so stunningly better that it made me laugh!

Musically the following Album 'Fallen' is superb, but recording Q took the sadly inevitable deterioration into compression and 'improving' the vocals when Amy does not need that. I did purchase the album after Fallen but it did not musically work for me and the recording quality degraded even farther so I never play it.

...for all that 'Origin' is totally different and gives a view on what some of the Artists were really capable of.

A Farewell to Kings

On top of everything else, worth listening to for the drum work alone. Xanadu and Cygnus-X1 also have lashings of atmosphere. Best listened to in a darkened room
