Agreed, that may be a tad creepy, but I can't believe you'd get away with an album sleeve like that Brand X one today!

Lise Berthaud (Viola), Adam Laloum (Piano)

Recorded at Église Saint-Pierre, Paris in July 2013

Märchenbilder for Viola and Piano, Op. 113 by Robert Schumann
Sonata for Arpeggione in A minor, D 821 by Franz Schubert
Sonata for Clarinet/Viola and Piano no 2 in E flat major, Op. 120 no 2 by Johannes Brahms

Music that sounds good to me whether I imagine the warmness of the forest scenes as given throughout the program booklet or the -32˚C with wind chill which is the reality outside my door today.

In either case, a perfect reason to stay in and listen or play ones favourite music.

Do you know Clive, I hadn't noticed the woman's bottom until you pointed it out... guess I was too busy looking at the coffee table!

I couldn't find the "What are you playing thread" but technically the following is still relevant as it happens to still fall under "What I am listening to today"  even if it is only me I am listening to.  Combined with the Hi-Fi Corner equipment listing and 2014 Photos/paintings of my room etc. it's all covered.

Oops, don't have one of these yet as I don't have the room as you can see below.  For now, it's a choice between Naim on a Fraim or a harpsichord.

The Naim equipment and the cello's are in the opposite corner behind this view.

Today's Schedule (I am just about to embark on #5 onward for the remainder of the morning):

1) Warm up with technical exercises and some Hanon.

2) Listen to Olivier Cavé recording of same and then Emil Gilels of the same for some inspiration

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOFPOUfeug4

3) Scarlatti Sonata K. 32 in d minor Aria

4) Johann Sebastian Bach:

     > d minor Sinfonia

     > e minor Sinfonia

5)  Frédéric Chopin:

     > All 24 Preludes.  I have a pretty good grasp on maybe 75% with the biggest challenges remaining to be the f-sharp minor, b-flat minor, g sharp minor, E-flat major, and the d minor.

6) Frédéric Chopin:

     > e-flat minor Etude

7)  Ludwig van Beethoven:

     > 32 variations in c minor

8)  Prelude in B minor (Bach /  Siloti)

    > me

9)  Then to keep me forever humble:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu06WnXlPCY

10)  Sergei Rachmaninov

      > Andante

11) Claude Debussy:

This is my day and the portion of which I will listen to myself.  Closed door and private session only.

I love the cold weather.  Cold weather plus music -> the perfect marriage

"Jimmy Page And The Black Crowes Live At The Greek",  double c.d, what's so good about this one is the heaviness and the preponderance of numbers from "Physical Graffiti".

It is a great album Tony.

....and now for something totally different (ish):-

Meredith Brooks - Blurring the Edges

Haven't heard the Cabs in a while, so how about an original pressing of their first LP?

Highly recommended - Lucy is catergorised as Folk (AFAIK) but there's far more to this album than this tag may suggest.

Great voice, which is mixed at the front of the music, and through a good quality hi-fi this is cracking listening (IMHO).

Hi Steve

I agree, the music is really good. I only have it on MP3 at the moment but still sounds reasonable on the Qute .
