Having another go at the Trout. In search of better Tout than Beaux Arts.

Vienna Octet set. This is an earlier set with Panhoffer as a pianist. Not the popular later Curzon set.

Found this lovely UK Decca pressing in a decent shape. Wow. nice inviting warm sound with the performance to match. Fluid and elegant but full of vigor. Nice change of pace from composer's later *angry* work, this Quartet is  all sweet and light. Nice cover art, too.

The Rolling Stones. Some Girls. Early pressing from 1978 with all women's faces on cover.

Enjoyed these two so much yesterday had to play them again this morning

Beatles For Sale. On imported Parlophone vinyl circa 1978. Much better SQ relative to the American Capitol pressings. I think some of George's best sounding guitar work on this LP.

Nice!

Actually Tony I also have the 1st repress and that is in slightly better nick and sounds better than the 1st press which has a little more surface noise. The 1st repress came out very quickly after the first because of the Lemon Song credit which would go some way to explaining why it sounds so good.

Steve, If that's the one where Lemon Song was briefly changed to Killing Floor, before they re-released it including HW's name along theirs,  it is ever more rare. LZ always had a little problem when it came to crediting other musicians in their records. Naughty boys!

Have you heard the "Ain't That a Bitch" album Pete? Awesome (great cover too - they don't make 'em like that anymore)

Thanks Kevin . 'Aint That A Bitch' is one of the tracks on the album but i'll certainly check it out. I think i'm just a bit young to remember him but i heard a couple of his tracks whilst listening to FIP radio from Paris and was hooked. Top quality !
