Jimi People Hell & Angels.
For xmas I got a new notebook running Windows 8 . I found this on the music tile and it absolutely rocks (and funks). Don't take my word for it, ... give it a listen. I just bought the vinyl.
Great photo too, isn't it?

Agreed kuma. I've said here before that the Stones' pre 'Some Girls' vinyl sounds like it was mastered for AM radio.
oh.. I see.
I dont own any other Stones album so I was wondering why this is so poor!
This wasn't a very popular title when it came out ( IIRC US critics panned it ), so not included in a host of reissues that I see on the market.
I'm guessing that the UK original pressing ought to be a lot better.

Maybe? My only early Stones import is Russian and it sounds just 'OK'.
Anyhow ... I never got my invitation to your party . Hope all else went well .
Currently listening to my original vinyl copy of this early Deep Purple, and jolly good it sounds too!

I I truly do not understand why this thread offends so many people. I have received so many impulses here to explore further the musical postings of others who I have observed having similar (at times) listening pleasures that I have found it personally invaluable. I did not need explanations, I was inspired to explore because I love that active process along with the pleasures discovered.
And there has always been a connection for me to the old days of spending hours browsing record stores, enjoying the cover "art", reading record albums for the minute details of producers, co-musicians and others which begot other discoveries of new musics.
My thanks to so many, good listening to each of you.
Jeff A
Me neither Jeff, but it all seems rather harmless to me so it probably shouldn't keep anyone awake at night.
Like you, I've made some fun discoveries from this thread and elsewhere on the Forum and I'm grateful for it. There are two things that do irritate, however:
1) when the WHY part of the title gets forgotten about. A picture of the cover of an album with no comment - unless it's really well known, perhaps - is rather pointless. I want to be told something about the music. WHY should I be interested?
2) when an album cover contains no clues as to its title and/or artist and is posted without comment. Surely the least that a poster can do is give artist and title? There are a couple of examples further up the page of how it should be done (thanks, ewemon and bishopla)

Have been dipping in and out of Decca the Analogue years. Purchased somewhat peversely as a digital download, given the title, it contains some real gems for the princely sum of €67 (less than 1,25 a disc). I have quite a bit of this in LP form but this is a really nice way to access some great music making. My only bug bear is that the Mahler 2 lacks some of the emotive impact of the original vinyl, but later pressings also sound a little light weight to my (cloth) ears.
after experiencing Ressurection Symphony performed live , listening to it on the stereo again is never as good.
Agreed, it does justify the "raising of the dead" title
Marcelle Meyer
Disc 7:

Disc 8:
Toccatas BWV 910- BWV 912

Partita No. 6 BWV 830

Why? This music, the velvet touch, the incomparable French pianist Marcelle Meyer....Sublime beyond the nth degree.
From ripped CD. Before I try to configure the NDS to 3.22 firmware. Might be the last I ever hear from the NDS!!
super...
On vinyl:-
I have 2 versions both mono , this is the green label version. I can't see any reference to pressing numbers though.
Have a look at the matrix numbers Howard. The Columbia label would suggest it's a very early pressing.
I'll get those records sent off to you this week. Sorry for the delay but I was a bit crock last week.

Not sure where Jeff has picked up on the hostility "my word not his" to this tread.
However, I would just like to say that the post on here are one of the main reasons for me to keep hanging around. It has enhanced my listening pleasure, introduced me to music I would never have had listened to or bought by members who I now consider friends, some of whom I have had the good fortune to meet ( Kevin W Dennis A) and others I hope to meet soon (Steve J aka Dr Blues, Tony 2011 who seems to have stolen my entire record collection ). So guys & girls please keep up the good work in 2014..
This is one such band who without this thread I probably would never have listened to...

Cheers Steve , I was going to contact you Monday if they hadn't arrived. I've been crap for 3 or 4 days too.
Re Shadows album both the Green and Blue/Black/silver labels have XAX 2181 -1N or -2N stamping. Green label has a 1 and some faint initials on both sides, the black /blue/silver has 1 and 4 stamped.
The green label is the 1st press. The blue/black label came out around '64.
This double album was a good buy yesterday. It's Tyrannosaurus Rex - Beard of Stars/Unicorn. The vinyl is mint and SQ excellent. All for £6. Result.
'Til Tuesday - 'Everything's Different Now' ripped from CD to NS01, streaming through NDS now with firmware version 3.22.003. I am SO chuffed that I managed to install it without any issues. The instruction .pdf file was perfect.
Everything's Different Now.
An early A3/B3 '70s pressing bought yesterday for peanuts. This isn't an album I had heard before but I like it. For me it's better than Fragile. Great '70s prog.
Faure's most played music here.
