Horowitz's Mozart is not everyone's cup of tea but I like them for the playfulness and dash of pizzazz. These are compilation of his past studio and home recording and his live recording are even livelier with full of attitude.

Elegant Gypsy

Gentler and mellower and reads like a piano practice pieces next to Horowitz. Certainly not as daring  altho 22 year old Zimerman shows thoughtful moves.

His Mozart reads like a Chopin in love.

Thanks for the heads up Russell. I am having a listen to it on Quobuz in CD quality....very good.

Hi Steve

Glad you like it. It seems to get better each time I hear it.

Sony remaster vinyl and original Atlantic vinyl. The original sounds so much better, so the remaster is going.

I have both and I think the remaster stands well with the original. Where is your remaster vinyl going? The remaster CD is outstanding as well.

Joe along with a few other albums down to the local S/H shop.If I didn't have the original I'd be quiet happy with the remaster but for me the Atlantic edges it in the bottom end.

Wolf People - Steeple

Having been pointed toward Wolf People (thanks again Russell) and thoroughly enjoyed "Fain". I am now giving their "Steeple" a listen. Really excellent stuff which had passed me by unnoticed  until now.

Steve

I keep the original vinyl, the remaster vinyl, and the remaster CD on my shelf and give them their due playings in time. In part because two of the three I bought s/h and what I'd get back by reselling them is a pittance and mostly because they each sound so damned good per their format. I think it is possibly the best recorded LP of its genre and ergo the remasters shine as outstanding as well. And it was done at the height of analog recording prowess.
