pink floyd ~ a saucerful of secrets on the good old cds3!

Used to be one of my favourite bands Tony but kinda went off them. Always loved it when the audience used to throw bananas at the stage
Ewe, I did not know about the bananas but could be worse.
I was looking for a Mountain album and this one cropped up so I decide to have a listen. Yes, they were kind of alright.
This is another band that fits the bill although a little more psychedelic. The name of the band has always put me off. The music just about save it!![]()
Arrived in today's mail. First listens:
aoife o'donovan - fossils
(cd)
Pat,
Let me know your thoughts on Aoife's album please. I have Crooked Still's Still Crooked on CD and although I like her voice, the band themselves do not make me jump off my seat.
Tony
Hi Tony,
This is my first time listening to her. Took a blind jump. She reminds me of Shawn Colvin as far as her voice and some songs. My first listen I thought it was ok. Second listen this morning, I like it a bit better. May be a grower for me. Hard for me to recommend as I have not heard Crooked Still. Suggest checking it out on Spotify or iTunes samples before buying.
Best regards,
Pat
Hi Pat,
I've seen few videos and there are traces of Alison Krauss and kind of "popish"at the same time. Laura Marling's songs also spring to mind although a little more cheerful. I'm going to have another listen before deciding.
Many thanks
Cheers
Tony

Iron Maiden, En Vivo!, Vinyl, Picture Discs,
a present from my wife today
This is an excellent live British Blues album from 1974 which ever so slightly edges towards prog in places - Original vinyl.

Bluegrass/Americana. Like their energy.
I haven't played this people for a while because I kind, as Ewe said of Man, had gone off them. I listened to it to death simply because a friend of mine knew to how play all the(YES) songs by the book. I'm really trying not to think of Steve Howe as I made my feelings towards him quite clear a couple of years ago. I also blame the people who have been playing it here lately.
Still, a great album...

Graham my local S/H shop has a copy in, so may pick it up Friday if it's still there.I'm a bit partial to a good live album.

Great album with Arthur Lee. Man used to sing a song called Bananas and when they did the audience used to throw them at the stage. It always brought a laugh out of me. Those were the days.

Tift Merritt - Traveling Alone

I saw Arthur Lee probably three time in Manchester. The whole crowd used to chant his name, similar to how a football crowd chants a players name.
Ar thur lee Ar thur lee Ar thur lee Ar thur lee Ar thur lee Ar thur leeeeeeeee
As
Here we go Here we go Here we go Here we go Here we go Here we goooooo.
Not knowing about football, he didn't know what was going on or why.
It used to crack him up every time, struggled to sing for laughing.

LP- Arion (p) 70s : )
Commodores Live 1977, Original Vinyl
Over 20 years lost in my garage, first spin after cleaning with RCM.
I love the Brick House track.

Great live band whom I always went out of my way to go and see.
MORE Pink Floyd on cd.

Great track but a pain in the rear end in concert. Lionel used to handle one side of the audience and Mr Orange used to handle the other half doing the audience participation bit. Depend how they were feeling on any night the song could go on for 20 mins.

Followed by...

Both on vinyl...
