Had to take a day of work sick today, but these have helped the healing - All on vinyl..

On CD:-

Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From the Road

Gotan Project - Tango 3.0

This is the best of my two Elkie B albums. Leiber and Stoller came out of retirement to produce this album and its there touch that makes this a cut above the rest. Incredible versions of classics such as 'Doright Woman, Doright Man','Love potion No9' and 'Saved' Her finest hour IMO
Original Vinyl

Steely Dan - The Royal Scam

LP - Not Bad Records / 2014 reissue/remaster : )

Thanks again. I'll check it out . 'A Real Mother For You' is on my album as well as 4 tracks from 'Aint That A Bitch' so I'm maybe covered? I'll try and post the sleeve later. I think Robert Elms from BBC London must have been walking past my house as he was playing 'Johnny' this afternoon. Fantastic timeless music .
Pete, both the ARMFY and ATAB are both packed full of badass funky goodness and are utterly essential in my view.
Great shout Kevin , getting plenty of air time here. Thanks.

Steely Dan - Katy Lied

2 x LP - Polydor © 2014 reissue : )
In preparation for our Led Zeppelin day on Saturday I thought I'd better do some swatting up as I must confess that I am not the biggest fan, what is considered the best Led Zeppelin album? and I'll hunt a copy out as I really only know the big hits I'm embarrassed to admit.

Paul,
This two should keep the crowd happy.
The first is their best IMHO, stablished the band as being heavy and very bluesy and that kind of summarizes what their sound was all about.
Physical Graffitti is made up of cuttings that did not make to other albums and should give an idea of what went on in their heads in between those other releases.
Record one contains some of their heavier stuff like In My Time of Dyin' and the ethereal Kashmir.
Record two is more subtle and relaxing.
After the "gig" you can always listen to NIN's Downward Spiral. Serious LZ influence believe it or not: just ask Trent!![]()
Have fun,
Tony
Completely agree about the first album, remember our music teacher giving it a spin to prove some point or other and I was just overwhelmed by it. Stunning( as was the Music Mistress
