Bought this today along with some others. A really good album. I suspected it would be following 'Build a Rocket Boys'.

Ludwig van Beethoven:  Jean-Efflam Bavouzet (Piano)

Sonata for Piano no 11 in B flat major, Op. 22

Sonata for Piano no 12 in A flat major, Op. 26 "Funeral March"

Sonata for Piano no 13 in E flat major, Op. 27 no 1 "Quasi una fantasia"

Sonata for Piano no 14 in C sharp minor, Op. 27 no 2 "Moonlight"

Sonata for Piano no 16 in G major, Op. 31 no 1

Sonata for Piano no 17 in D minor, Op. 31 no 2 "Tempest"

Sonata for Piano no 18 in E flat major, Op. 31 no 3

Sonata for Piano no 15 in D major, Op. 28 "Pastoral"

Sonata for Piano no 19 in G minor, Op. 49 no 1

Sonata for Piano no 20 in G major, Op. 49 no 2

Sonata for Piano no 21 in C major, Op. 53 "Waldstein"

Andante for Piano in F major, WoO 57 "Andante Favori"

Volume 2 of Bavouzet's Beethoven Piano Sonatas in fine form as with the first volume.  Bavouzet has chosen another fine sounding Steinway for this project.  The playing is subtle while mostly limiting a huge dynamic range.  Clarity and perfection are what comes across as well as a sense of purity and solid rhythmic control.  While he occasionally adds his own twists here and there with a rit. it is not overdone at all - he does not inject an overbearing personality over the music at least in my view.  Just very well done and competent in what we have come to expect from Bavouzet.

The Best of Jackson Browne. On CD from 1997. Continuing my renewed enchantment with the 5X since the SN2 arrived.

Haim,

Hope it'll clear up for Friday's concert.

Are you going to the Uchida/Muti Schuman show next week?
