Hawkwind    California Brainstorm    on cd, released in 1992 from the tour of two years before, recorded straight onto DAT with no studio adulterations, we have here the band sounding as tight as a mouse's ear hole.

One of my all time favourite albums contains the magnificent 'Joan of Arc'  - 1987 1st press vinyl the SQ is unbelievable.
