slowly working my way through this set. Mr Chailly is a conductor I like and this set is done in a straight forward manner without any particularly romantic leaning. And maybe all the better for it. I will have to go back to other records I have and compare. But I am certainly enjoying this set.

This is not as good imo as David's more well known album "American Gothic". However, if you like Randy Newman, Nick Cave, Tom Waits or, Jacques Brel, you should appreciate this undervalued singer-songwriter - both albums are available on CD.
