Not heard this TYA album, Steve. How would you rate it against Cricklewood Green?

MDS

Very different but still excellent. When TYA started out they were heavily jazz influenced and this live LP reflects that with tracks like Woodchopper's Ball but there's excellent guitar work from Alvin Lee and there's an idea of what was to come with the final track I'm Goin' Home.

Steve

That's a great album Steve. I do prefer the 73'  live album though. I must get round to getting their first album on vinyl.

Tony

Small club venue with intimate atmosphere at the beginning of their career vs big stadium venues at their peak. Both have their merits for me.

Thanks, Steve (and Tony).  Might look this one up.

My listening from late last night and for the car this morning.

Sorry ewemon, listening in the car doesn't count here. Only on Naim gear. Unless you happen to be driving a Bentley, then we'll accept it.

On cassette! First thing to be played on my newly-serviced Nak Dragon is this American cassette version of New Order's P,C&L.

Sounding pretty good for a 31-year-old tape:

Cheers Tony. Now the beast is starting to warm up a bit, it is starting to sound very, very good. Got some slightly newer tapes to play next...

Nice one Tony. I love this album. Beautifully innovative, eclectic, different and engaging. It's on heavy rotation here.

I hear bits of it used with BBC2 'Idents' or programme links.

It is indeed a very special album John and as fresh as when it was released two years ago. Looking forward to listening to new material  soon.
