Joe Walsh. So What. On vinyl from 1974. Aside from Joe's great music and outstanding sound quality, the inner sleeve is among the nicest I own; embossed on both sides, artistic, and with detailed credits.

Sir Beecham's Schubert Symphony No.2.
It does not even sound like Schubert compared to his mature work. Sunny and care free attitude overall with a touch of Mozart/Haydn-esque polish.
Beecham's direction is equally light hearted, the music glides through with gentle turns and curves. But the overall styling is undeniably dated. Swashbuckling happy 4th shows boy's idea ( Schubert was only 17 when he wrote it ) of a hero galloping into the sunset with a Rossini like riffs.

Böhm/Berliner Schubert Symphony No.2:
Fun & bouncy from the top but polished without losing the friendliness. This is Böhm at his best maintaining the Viennese elegance and lively spirit.
The final movement is done in a manner of opera buffa keeping the light air all the way through. Böhm slips in *fake* gallantry just for fun. Skilful and intelligently executed preserving a believable right attitude for the score but highly entertaining.

It’s a rare pleasure to see a musician who was under-appreciated during her heyday have a delayed influence a later generation of artists while she’s still in good working condition. It’s even rarer, and even more pleasurable, to see her staying a few lengthy strides ahead of the game.

If there’s one band that can be relied on to deliver a solid alt.country rock album then it’s Drive By Truckers. Now 18 years on from their debut album they’re still the go-to guys; in fact English Oceans may just be their most coherent album yet.

Just bought a series of CD's called songlines music awards.
Bought the awards CD's from 2010 through to latest 2014 new release.
Really impressed by the diverse range of musicians and their work.
Anyone else come across these, and any similar recommendations?

No, my cd collection is large enough as it is, it's not a matter of space more of time.
Currently listening to "Emperor Tomato Ketchup" by Stereolab.
