'Concrete Love' by Julia Fordham - Foolish Thing.
I've been having a bit of a Julia fest this evening. It's ok though, she knows I love her!

Selected tracks...
Heitor Villa-Lobos - Bachianas Brasileiras. Box Set.
May appeal to Bach aficionados, but then again, may not.
.
There's not many 3 CD box sets I can listen too from start to finish, but this is one I can, never tire of listening to it.

then

Roger Waters - Amused To Death - album on cd. This is like the moment when you find an everyday object from another era, and admire the workmanship and craft that had gone into the production of it, and you feel a soft klunk in your heart as you realise they just don't make things like this any more. I love this because it is one of those albums that the iTunes kids nowadays just would not be able to understand.
Yep. One of my favourites too.

Needed something soothing this evening. This album usually does the trick.

Rush, Counterparts, first listen of hirez download and so far so good

Great band, and you've described them very well
My copy arrived today excellent album, good SQ also.... Vinyl

Great Album. If you don't mind may I ask where did you buy this?
Larry
Hi Larry. Got it from Amazon UK £8.66p a heads up from Steve J on this forum last week. Sorry for the late reply just seen your post.
Graham.
Graham,
No worries for the late reply. This is one of my favorite NY albums. My copy is old and well used. It is time for a replacement. I'm was hoping for the reissue in April but I just read it has been postponed.
Thanks,
Larry

Agreed! One of my all time favourites.
The Four Orchestral Suites [of JS Bach] are hardly to be considered as "For a young Prince!"
They are Universal.
ATB from George

and this - amazing recording!
DB, I always wondered what certain music sounded at the end of a hi-end system fed into a pair of S800s. I guess I'll never know!![]()

fatcat - do tell me more; I am very familiar with his work as transcribed for classical guitar, but the rest of his body of work, not so much.

DrMark,
A taste of the Bachianas for you:

Larry,
Is it the Record Store Day NY release you are referring to? Or is there going to be another single LP release of Zuma?

Brandi Carlile. The Story. On CD from 2007. Her second LP.

It is probably an old copy of the original release of the vinyl Joe as the RSD version has been delayed till later in the year as Neil has other projects he wants to work on.

Horowitz's Chopin ('50 recording ) is bold and angular with precise note delivery. Animated, showy and distinctive. This is not a run of the mill willy-nilly Chopin. Rather, hot blooded and full of human emotion pouring out of the keys like a temperamental artist having a hissy fit. A highly entertaining and intense Funeral March. Extremely heavy handed but Horowitz' creative interpretation in full force.

Savoy Brown - Blue Matter on vinyl.
A rousing start to Friday.
