A little bit softer material now, again on vinyl.

Latest Kings of Leon on vinyl.  Very good SQ.

LP - Decca/Argo © 1977 : )

side 1: Mass for five voices

side 2: Mass for four voices

Recordings from the Chapel of Merton college, Oxford (p) 1977

Morse music? : )

Very smooth, sweet, and relaxing.

From what i can hear with the five voices, of which all are male, a bass, a baritone, a tenor, and two soprano boys of which one packs up and goes home before side 2 is recorded.

Fantastically textured and group harmonic. Often sounding more than 4 or 5 people but I guess they are all playing their well practised part with perfect precision - there would be no room to hide a duff note singer within the Chapel acoustics : )

This is something that I do not have of William Byrd.  Guess I'll have to keep my eyes out for it.  Listening to textured and layered vocals of William Byrd's music late at night, lights turned down, and with a good glass of wine on a good system was what got me started on the road to high-end audio.  Just had to have a system capable of transporting one into the Church/cathedral where the recording was made and to hear the vocal intracacies.

Etheral music.

William Byrd's music certainly beats the crap out of Monteverdi

Well, still listening to sounds quite different from William Byrd (that will be for the last play tonight)

10th Anniversary re-issue on vinyl

Still more vinyl, the deck is getting a workout tonight.

I'm spinning the CD from the 1993 Complete Studio Recording Box Set. There was no working LP title when Hipgnosis shot the album photos and the jacket designer suggested calling it "Obelisk". So that's what everyone is staring at.

More new heavy-weight vinyl with very quiet surfaces and great SQ

Mind Over Matter.

Great cover photography. Haven't seen that one before, Geofiz.

George Harrison. All Things Must Pass. Remastered CDs from 2001. Truly, among rock music's greatest works with possibly the best cast of rock musicians ever assembled.
