Pogorelich's Chopin is idiosyncratic and showy and just not very believable. I still prefer Kempff's Chopin here even with a few misplaying. I get the much better sense of life behind his keys.

Led Zeppelin. In Through The Out Door. On vinyl from 1979.

The whole program is highly charged and emotional. Martha lets it all out. The weaker is the back half where the funeral march does not quite have the sense of despair and sorrow but she's a pro. The finale has an excellent finesse with a creepy hushed whisper leading up to the 'door slamming' big bang. This is an excellent original pressing which rhythmically more alive and tonal shading is richer than a reissue CD.

Creedence Clearwater Revival. Eponymous debut from 1968. On Canadian vinyl with Fantasy lightning label, circa 1973.

Porcupine Tree   -  Up The Downstair   -    digipak 2 cd version.  Forget dark winter evenings and melancholic weather, the best atmosphere to listen to this album is on a warm and bright sunny morning.

Dipping randomly into these 8 Studio Masters, the SQ is excellent.

Thanks for that, Larry. I'll bear that in mind next time.
