LP + CD / Staatsakt 2014 : )

My second play of the CD, tbh i'm finding it a bit dissapointing,

i'm hoping it's a grower.

It only starts to get into the Yello mode towards the end tracks,

which is nice,

and ends with the track called 'Schueffele'

Please would a friendly neighbourhood German translater tell me what Schueffele means?

It's not in my Deutsch-Wörterbuch : )

Thanks

I'm informed by my wife, who spent some years in Bavaria that it's a funny slap 'n' tickle dance (her words not mine) and also the way people walk at the Oktoberfest!

Very slow rendering of the 6th. Each note seems to hang in suspension. Whilst I still prefer the early Mravinsky mono 6th, this is done with enough weight and urgency sure beats many other wall paper Hollywood rendering which loses the potency of the score.

Interesting thing about Klemperer set is that I always get the feeling of 3rd person narrative. Almost like a clam photo jurnalistic style.

Steve Miller Band. Fly Like An Eagle. On the original vinyl from 1976, mastered by Wally , so it's good sounding stuff.

Some mellow (at times) Sunday morning tunes.
