The Best of The Guess Who. On CD from 2006, RCA/Legacy. Superb remastering. Crystal clear with dead-black background and a wide soundstage. I actually prefer this to my vinyl copy .

It is such a shame that they left some trax recorded that night off this what otherwise is great release.

ewemon,

Interesting that you bring this up. I was reading that it was recorded over two nights. Only 6 tracks included. You'd think they could put more esp on a CD. The SQ is fine, but frankly I think Neil sounds a bit wasted on this (I know, .... I mean more wasted than usual). Maybe that's all the useable material that came from those nights?

I saw Sarah Jane live at Ronnie Scott's in London last week Saturday.

Very different session than this recording but so nice

Continuing the minimalist mood, the anniversary reissue of Young Marble Giants' remarkable debut Colossal Youth on CD. With two extra CDs worth of singles, outtakes, Peel sessions etc

Shame my copy is a CD! Nice claim to fame Steve J, AK certainly had connections with some incredible musicians (& some fascinating stories about the Stones Muddy Waters amongst others). I always enjoyed him as a radio broadcaster too.
