Despite the fact that the Schumann here is missing the second & third movement (ya, Long Play - not), this record will forever hold a very special meaning for me personally. The Franck, then Schumann, and now the Debussy represent the last three to four years of my life musically. It is hard to say but I imagine I would have spent over 1000 hours at the piano on these pieces combined. 60% to 70% of this was on the Franck as the other two are much smaller works. The Franck I wanted to learn. It was the hardest and took me way more than a year to learn but such a pleasure I'll never forget. It is never work to sweat and learn something you really enjoy. The Schumann and Debussy I was rather apprehensive to learn as I had other priorities first but my cello partner picked these so I obliged of course. Once I got over the initial unfamiliarity these grew on me before long after realizing how wonderful this music is too. Now I only thank her for choosing these.
