I used this album this morning to evaluate some fettling of the Napsc on my 282 and wanted to see if the benefits I heard this were still apparent this evening.   And oh, yes....

Bruce Springsteen. Darkness on the Edge of Town. Original pressing from 1978. My favorite Springsteen LP. I much prefer the open sound and dynamics of this LP versus the previous (Born to Run).

@Geofiz,

I'm interested in your take on this LP. I very much enjoy the Doobies early stuff, but was never a fan of the Michael McDonald years. Since he appears on a single track here, is this true to the earlier sound? A quick sample of the MP3s tells me possibly, but might be too much of an old sounding thing.

My favourite Boss disc think I will dig it out.

It isn't a bad Doobies album Joe, possibly their best for a long time. Though for me it personally never hits the heights of Toulouse or Capt but that would be difficult to do IMHO.

John Mayall - A Hard Road

Decca Mono vinyl.

Debut release by - Quest Ensemble: Footfall

With intriguing traces of Vaughn Williams, Steve Reich, and Esbjörn Svensson Trio, Quest paint a unique and evocative musical landscape filled with lyrical melodic lines, rich harmonies, and interwoven rhythmic counterpoint.

The album launch @ Wiltons Music Hall on Thursday night was wonderful. The London-based ensemble; Filipe Sousa, (piano), Tara Franks (cello), and Preetha Narayanan (violin), were joined by visual artist, Somang Lee and Recorder duo, Gold Vox.
