Hi Apye! Just had a listen on Spotify and I really liked her. Think I'll be adding some of her music to my shopping list. Thanks for the recommendation .

I am sure I saw it first on this very forum as well, enjoy!

House of Jacks

As good as his 1st album if not better.

Kev,,

Streaming a couple of times before committing to vinyl as he's one of my favourite modern jazz pianists but that does not always translate any better on the black stuff. If originally recorded on a digital source it might sound a bit too contrived to my taste.

Tony, it's well recorded, as you might expect, but the weird thing is, that despite all the different instruments he plays, it sounds more uniform, less inventive, than he sounds when he plays solo piano or with his classic trio. An oddity. I wlll give it a few more goes but I think it's for the hardcore/completists.

I agree with you about KJ not sounding quite as good on vinyl as he does on CD - I swapped my Koln Concert LP for the CD and was much happier with it.

Will have to come back to you on that one Kev but I DO prefer the vinyl pressing on the KC. The CD has always sounded a little "dry" to me. But, hey,  as long as you're happy.

The lead singer of the Black Lillies used to be in Robinella with his wife before they split.

You seem to be having a very Evanescence few days . This one's still the best though IMHO Russell

Yes I am Russell, I had been trying to find a sound similar to We Are The Fallen and this was it for obvious reasons. I agree Fallen is their best album. Sad and disappointed that both bands seem to have split up and that we shall hear no more from either of them. Steve

Just fancied listening to some of the 'Orrible 'Oo, on Elpee.

Interesting selection of tracks from their BBC sessions, on nice thick double vinyl:
