Ahronovitch's 7th.

Interestingly, this does not start out with usual chunky militaristic style for a Russian conductor. Instead it has an ebb and flow to it which is very different from anything I have heard to date on the 7th. The 1 st movement feels like a wide river slowly moving.  An intelligent use of pauses creates sense of story behind the score. The march does not have that typical 'goose step' feet and done in legato. Notes do not stop abruptily and sustains in a split second. So I see why a critic panned it for lacking precision. Yet there is a sense of menace black lava like invasion as if a huge tsunami engulfing anything in front of it. The way this is directed is almost Mahler like.

Unconventional reading, but I find it just as powerful.

Probably have not listened to this album  since the release. I even forgot I had it in vinyl.

I still think Moon Safari was their best.

Maybe they'll have a come back hit like Daft Punk did.

Caribou - The Milk Of Human Kindness

New purchase.  Exploring more of the catalog.  My introduction was 'Swim'.  On first listen it is quite good.  Looking forward to playing it some more.

After his passing, Tennstedt seems to have been forgotten.

I love his *Titan* for its dynamics, expressions and gutsy earthy colours. This makes everyone else look pale in comparison.

Hi Sorren, I have this one. It's not outrageously good but it is on a typical high IQ quality. For me IQ has become a bit repetitive....... So I don't dislike it, but I wouldn't also give a 100% recommendation.

Cheers,
