I watched The History of The Eagles (part 1) on iPlayer last night and found it fascinating, so earlier ...

Eagles - Hotel California

Eagles - Hotel California, 24/192 followed by ...

Eagles - The Long Run

Eagles - The Long Run 24/192. You wouldn't know from the music that the band was so close to collapse at this point.

Thanks for the Idea Jeff I just fancy a bit of Four Seasons ...

The Avison Ensemble - Concerto Opus 8 (including The Four Seasons), 24/192 a brilliant version of this work, fresh and clean to my ears.

Hello

I don't listen to classical often but some mornings just seem right.  And The Four Seasons has always been a simple, relaxing entry to that genre for me.  Enjoy your music-filled day.

I keep meaning to get some of her work, she's on the list. What do you think of this album? Russell

Thanks Jeff A, enjoy yours too, I'm much the same, I have a few favourite classical pieces but only tend to listen to them occasionally. Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade being my absolute favourite though I haven't found a recording of it I'm absolutely happy with. Russell

War On Drugs

"Lost In The Dream"

Spotify - because of recommendations here, with good reason

Why? Because it's been sitting there still in it's wrapper for weeks and I thought it was about time.

Hi BigH47

I have the first release on CD of this. Is the Deluxe Edition worth getting

Raider, There are a couple of extra tracks on CD2 that are pretty good including a Richard Thompson track, some quite different versions of main album tracks. I haven't watched the DVD yet.

I haven't listened to the original against the new one to see if it's a re-master.

I just looked and the 2 X CD + DVD is now £32 I paid £15, not sure if it's VFM, but it's still a great album.

Fleetwood Mac - The Very Best Of

Not normally into greatest hits albums much but this one is very good

Posted on: 26 May 2014 by Huge

Fleetwood Mac already did a Best Of album, it was called Rumours!

I've just upgraded my system and started using a streamer (ND5 XS), so I'm going through things again, committing them to a hard disk.

One thing that stood out and surprised me was the quality of recording of Jacqui McShee's voice on Pentangle's 'Cruel Sister'.

For a 1970 recording it's quite delightful.  But then the music contains very little of the frequency extremes where the weaknesses of tape systems from that time really show up.

And it's a great album musically to boot
