Wild Ones -Keep It Safe

Female vocal indie pop.  Debut album.  Heard first on my usual resource, wknc.  Played it a few times since getting it last week.  Enjoyable, easy to get into.

I keep meaning to get some of her work, she's on the list. What do you think of this album? Russell

Hi Russell,

Hard for me to say.  I like it, but at the same time I am going to have to give it a few more listens to get a better feel.  Picked this one at random, I believe it is her 2nd album.

Best regards,

Pat

This is a good looking good sounding set but perhaps intimacy and earthy natural feel are lost on this.

The first time listening to Blumine and the composer made the right call deleting it from the original score.

on the one hand enjoyable, on the other hand it's also interesting to see that jazz has developed a lot since that and in quite a number of modern records the drums / bass are a balanced part as well of the recording and not just mere background...

On Qobuz Hi-Fi

My last day with Qobuz Hi-Fi before the trial ends, so I thought I would give this one a "spin".

A bit of Phil Collins to banish the rain outside. This was my first Phil Collins album and remains a favourite. Colours is an enchanting song and the brass on All of My Life is lovely and raspy, just like the real thing.

Isn't that the bloke that sang that song that he wished it would rain down on him? Good choice!

Yes, Tony. And as it happens that's precisely  the song I'm listening to as your post arrived. Impeccable timing, sir!

After the Gold Rush

On original vinyl...

As posted a few threads ago, he may not be the best guitarist in the world but he is a damn fine lyricist. Rain or sunshine!
