Hawkwind  -  Elf and The Hawk  -    on cd.

I know one thing I won't be listening to and that is Rhydian's (I think I spelt it rightish) latest album  Yes it may be top of the classical album charts, I know but that ain't gonna swing me.

Last Sunday morning me and t'missus were laying in bed (no dirty jokes please, you are better than that) and listening to the lovely Claire Bolding's Sunday morning show and Rhydian was her guest on their talking about his new album etc and they played a track from it.  What's more said track is one of my all-time favourites: Au Fond Du Temple Saint, a hauntingly beautiful duet from 'The Pearl Fishers'.  Now the best recorded version of this is by Jussi Bjorling and Robert Merrill and whenever I hear this version I get shivers up and down my spine - it is gorgeous.  Unfortunately, the Rhydian version lacked the spine tingling, it became just ordinary.

Sorry Rhyd!

It's the only Marillion I have - steeped in student memories.

Wasn't Orange Barrel what I am calling Sunshine, it had a Stars & Stripes stamped on it?

Maybe something's done my memory in, can't think what.

Sounds like CIA stash, Black Pyramids are the ones I remember, it was the Blue Microdots that turned you barmy.

I remember some little purple cubes, drop one of those and you were gone within 15 min.  That's why we listened to the Dead, Spirit, String Band, Floyd, Allmans, CSN, Max Bygraves, Airplane etc.

Beethoven's early String Trio.
